for local residents. Now its hidden treasures are available to everyone!

The easiest way to catch the big ones in Ukkohalla is to fish on Lake
Syväjärvi. Only a stone’s throw away from the holiday homes and slope
centre, you can cast your lure for salmon and brown trout. Regular
fish-stocking ensures a good chance you'll be lucky. A good fishing rod
together with small lures and spoons are the right choices for your day
out. The cottages in the area provide boats already equipped for
trolling. Permits and information on where the fish are biting are
available from the Info outlet.

Fishing permits for Lake Syväjärvi

Only ice- and fly-fishing or fishing with a rod, hook and line and lure
are permitted. A permit grants the possibility to use two (2) lines
which are within reach of the fisher’s hand. A child under 15 years of
age may fish by using his/her parent or guardian’s permit for the same
catch quota.
Lake Syväjärvi is stocked with catch-size brown trout and salmon. Nature
provides pike, whitefish, burbot, perch, ruff and roach.
Combine your fishing day with other possibilities. You can catch lake
trout from Luvankoski Rapids, for instance, as well as in Nuottikoski
Rapids, a fishing area in the vicinity of the village.
