There are many possibilities to acquaint yourself with the spectacular natural beauty of Ukkohalla. You can experience Kainuu’s nature at its most genuine by going on a safari and various excursions into the wilderness. Whether it’s a hay-burning SUV (sometimes called a horse!), an engine-equipped contraption, or you prefer to use your own legs to get around, you'll get to have a close-up peek at the scenery, plants and other natural phenomena. With guided and supervised treks, the newbie can safely enjoy the peace and quiet of local nature.
In addition to snowmobiling and riding, Ukkohalla features the possibility to visit a reindeer farm, go for a reindeer ride, put on a pair of showshoes or try safely how a side slip feels at a speed of 80 km/h. On the driving practice track at Ajohalla Driving School, you’ll learn to anticipate perilous conditions and drive your car under them – on dark and slippery roads. Two-time world-champion rally driver Risto Mannisenmäki will act as your map reader.
