The excitment of downhill skiing on the peaks of Kainuu
All
types of downhill skiers are taken into consideration on the slopes of
Ukkohalla. Complete beginners have their own area where they can safely
improve their skills before taking on the larger slopes.
Something suitable can be found for everyone from the 14 slopes
available. The most challenging ones are the renowned Hallapark and
Treeride slopes, where you can watch the most incredibly skilful tricks
performed if you don’t dare to try ski jumps or snowboarding rails
yourself! JuniorPark is for children but is also a safe place for their
parents to get familiar with ski-jumping and rail-sliding. Ukkohalla’s
snow reliability is unique in all of Finland – the season on the slopes
always lasts at least till the 1st of May.
Of Ukkohalla’s 15 slopes, the longest is Luppokaarre, which is 1,400
metres long. The Musta Töyssy slope is 1,150 metres in length and Tykky –
next to the main ski lift – is also over one kilometre long. At best,
the difference in levels in Ukkohalla is 170 metres. There is a total of
six illuminated slopes in Ukkohalla.
